Visual artist Andrea Maack graduated form The Icelandic Academy of the Arts in 2005. Her work balances the line between art and fashion. She currently lives and works in Reykjavik.

Maack uses her pencil and mixed media drawings to form a basis for her artwork that borderline with fashion and play with the concept of wearable art. Her exhibition pieces are one-offs and have included garments constructed out of her original drawings in unconventional materials. The pieces are wearable sculptures and have been exhibited internationally since 2007. She has also created three unique perfumes in a collaboration with French perfumery Apf that were inspired by her drawings. Maack crosses the boarder between art and consumerism shaking the usual roles around. She works with elements from her exhibition pieces creating commercial but unconventional collections.

Maack opened one of the first independent designer boutiques in Reykjavik called Lakkrisbudin in operation from 2002-2005. Among her other projects are directing Sequences Real Time art festival in 2007 and managing artist run institutions The Living Art Museum. In 2009 and 2010 Maack was awarded a visual artist stipend from the Icelandic government and a design grant from Aurora Design Fund. She has hosted lectures and workshops for fashion and consulted on different project internationally.
